Covert War Raging on Regina

Free Thoughts has learned that the forces that tested an unknown psionically based weapon under the protection of Myron Brubaker are now waging a covert war for the control of the device. As our readers will remember we were the first to link the deaths of Brubaker, Caal and Churgin, links irresponsible pseudo-journalists turned into the Regina Avenger. This ploy was no doubt in response to their shadowy masters orders to obscure the dangerous situation- a Military-Corporate-Spy cabal has lost control of a weapon that lurks in our midst.

Free Thoughts has discovered that the deaths of two of the "Satan’s Slammers" mercenary corps were connected to the deaths of the original testing conspiracy headed by Brubaker. Authorities stated that they were pursuing the case as connected to the previous three deaths when the Regent forced Regina Police Commissioner Seymour Globber to announce police "reforms". These putative reforms that have taken Globber off the case and effectively given carte blanche the true masters of Regina to wage their shadow war.

The first shots of this shadow war were an attempt on the life of the Duchess of Rhylanor. An AP assassin was used that concealed a version of the new device. Known psionic Michael Griffin was seen at the park just moments after the assault. Witnesses stated that a former SuSAG employee, Andrew Trygaer, was seen with him.

The next victim was this same Andrew Trygaer. Little is known about this shadowy figure, but FT has learned that the notorious eugenics program run on the nearby planet of Qua'ar was commanded by a war criminal named Trygaer. Both were known to be bio-geneticists with a fascination in the genetics of psionics. Add to that the fact that Trygaer disappeared just months before the first records of SuSAG’s Andrew Trygaer begin. We will most likely never know the depth of Trygaer’s involvement since SuSAG security gunned down this mysterious figure in cold blood. Regina Police of course state that Trygaer was an armed intruder on SuSAG property. If that was true, why was Trygaer shot in the back?

Hours later that property was in shambles as an elite force of commandos attacked the Regina SuSAG compound. A mix of psionic mind control and hallucinogenic agents have rendered the only SuSAG witnesses useless. All we can be sure of is that the shadow rulers of Regina are willing to destroy each other to gain control of this weapon. A mix of Regina authorities and Megacorp flunkies banded together to force the reluctant SuSAG to open it’s Regina headquarters using the excuse of "biological contamination".

Now the war is spilling out onto the lower levels of Regina. Free Thoughts has learned that the bloodthirsty mercenaries who style themselves as "Satan’s Slammers" were told the killer of their comrades would be found on Level 17. The killer was there they learned before they were literally obliterated. FT has confirmed that the police have found not a scrap of biological matter at the crime scene. There are no clues the police are willing to look into but FT has learned, at great peril, that the attacker of the Duchess of Rhylanor was implanted with a similar device. The device was so effective that Regina Parks Commission has finally found a biologically sterile area to start the long delayed choi pond. The pond is perfectly round, the destruction was so uniform and complete the deck of Level two was exposed.

The fallout from this event is still being felt. The Imperial-Zhodani talks deciding the fate of Regina are taking place in the midst of this deadly dance of specters. The ousted Solomani Consul was no doubt an inadvertent casualty of this cabal, no doubt unready for the melange of Regina under the control of the unseen forces that rule here. SuSAG has a new executive with ties to their ruthless security apparatus - the brother of the remote Anton Solati, Jacques Solati. And the oppressed masses of Regina can only wait for the next blow or the next circus to distract them and keep them placid.
