All seemed well between Corina and the Solomani Consul, Christopher Blaelok, and they had been seen together in public on a regular basis. They had appeared to have a cordial, if formal relationship until the night of 12-1122, and the grand ball, where the Solomani committed a major fashion faux pas. It was supposed to be Corina Ling-Raleigh's night to shine. The ball welcomed the Imperial and Zhodani legations to Regina, and the glitterati were there in force. Dirk Savage was dashing as always, and the Duchess of Rhylanor was her usual glowing self, in a simple black dress that drew quite a bit of attention away from the hostess. Corina was dressed in a rather provocative number in scarlet, and that certainly drew the eye, but the Duchess's understated elegance was only the tip of the fashion iceberg that night. Though not what one could call an "attractive" man, Solomani Consul Christopher Blaelok has always been a man with a keen eye for fashion and style. On the night of the ball, the Consul was even more elegant, in a tuxedo obviously from the cutting edge of Rim evening wear, and the final straw was the companion on his arm: Pamela. A blonde vision in powder blue raw silk, she was a cool and elegant alternative to Corina Ling-Raleigh's obvious cry for attention. Although no public displays of displeasure seeped out during the ball itself, the hostess did in fact "vanish" for some time from the party, returning only when the guests began to wonder where the Regent had gone. To compose herself in the kitchen? Perhaps she was "cold pissed"? The Tattler's well-placed source within the upper social circles was able to pass on the inside scoop on the little soirée, and what would otherwise have been concealed can now be made public. Good thing too - otherwise who knows who the next victim of "fashion suicide" would be? The Tattler considers this a public service announcement to the men on Regina: next time you're invited to one of the Regent's parties, whatever you do don't bring a better-looking date! Or was there something about the body, something too horrible to reveal?

Solomani Diplomats Expelled for
Overshadowing the Regent.
The entire staff of the Solomani consulate were summarily tossed off Regina today for "reasons of planetary security", according to the Regent's press secretary Francesca Thomas. The Regent herself, however, has been uncharacteristically silent on this subject. A newfound aversion to expressing her opinion in public, perhaps? Or is there some concern that embarrassing questions may surface if a press conference were called?
And the males at the ball were definitely paying attention to the lovely Pamela. The final straw was Dirk Savage's wandering eye, but who could blame him? Especially after Blaelok and his companion mesmerized the crowd when the band struck up, and the Solomani couple outshone even Corina and Dirk Savage. And were Dirk's eyes only on his dance partner? If any other reporters other than Corina's pet, Barry Boone, had been permitted to attend the function, the faxes and airwaves of Regina would no doubt have been flooded by pictures of the dancers.

"Accident" Victim's Body Missing!
In the aftermath of the industrial accident at SuSAG's Up Port facility, the body of the late Anton Solati has apparently gone missing. Although the local authorities have stated that Mr. Solati is "presumed dead", and since he hasn't shown up himself to prove them wrong, everyone seems willing to accept the death as a fact. But is it?
With all the experimentation and biogenetic research that has been taking place at SuSAG, both with and without the consent or cooperation of the local government, isn't it a little premature to announce a death before anyone has seen the body?
