No one was around for the shouting that night, but something happened to split up Regina's hotest pair, Corina Ling-Raleigh and Dirk Savage, before the big fire. Dirk was seen that evening, prior to the fire - carrousing at the Purple Oyster in fine style. Dirk was not only flamboyent that night, he was also flamboyently drunk. Absent that evening, was Corina Ling-Raleigh, who was apparently home that evening, unaware of the impending inferno at her apartment. However, her absence didn't deprive Dirk of female companionship, because he left at closing time on the arm of one of the Purple Oyster's staff dancers, Jackie Knopf. (see Tattler Exclusive interview with Jackie about her night with Dirk!) Can you imagine Corina's shock when she awoke in the hospital to find that not only was someone trying to kill her yet again, but Dirk had already found "solace" of some kind in the arms of another women, while Corina burned? According to witnesses at the hospital, Corina's security guards arrived at the hospital the next morning with a rather reluctant and dischievaled Dirk in tow. Gosh and we would have expected Dirk to send flowers at least. However well Corina seemed to be mending physically, this was obviously the last straw for her emotionally. Dumped by the navy, her family, her finacee - Mark Bach and now Dirk. Is it any wonder that she decided she couldn't stand the pain anymore? Why would Corina pick a fight with her own security guy? Better yet, why would she pick a fight to the death in a public place, with witnesses, barbaric weapons and refereed by barbarians that would only be satisifed with a dead body? The answer is that she picked a fight that she knew she would lose. What better way to out drama Dirk. It was the ultimate, "Oh yeah Dirk, you're a jerk" from beyond the grave. In a Tattler Exclusive interview, Jackie Knopf described her night with Dirk Savage. "like, it was like, a dream, you know? I was dancing at the Purple Oyster, where I work, and there he was, Dick Salamander, I mean, Dirk Savage. He was buying rounds for the house and tipping all us girls, you know? I just thought he was gorgeous. He was pretty ripped by closing time and when I asked him if he wanted to come home with me, he thought that was a good idea too. I could just imagine what all my friends were going to think, Dirk Salamander and me. When we got back to my apartment, Dirk was going to make us a drink, I think it was a martini, like in all his movies. He went over to the bar and poured the booze into one of those shaker things. And when he went to shake it you know? He fell right over on his back on the floor. I guess he had more to drink than I thought. He kept talking about "that woman", he didn't say any names or anything, but he said "what does she expect me to do?" And later after he sort of passed out on my couch he kept saying "George, George" and "fire". I just thought it was so cool, Dirk Salamander on my couch, you know? Maybe I can get some kind of role, like dancing or something in his next film, what do you think? It was so cool, until like the next morning, when there was this knock at the door and there were these two guys in suits , you know? They said they were there to get Dirk and they just picked him up off the couch and left, like harsh man. Dirk didn't even kiss me goodbye, like bummer. But I guess he didn't kiss me hello either, but he did sleep on my couch. Doesn't that count for something?
