Corina Ling-Raleigh, Daughter of Duke Norris

Genetic testing has revealed that Corina Ling-Raleigh is indisputably the natural daughter of the former Duke of Regina, Norris Aledon. Although the residents of Regina have become accustomed over the years to learn of Norris's paternity of a number of children born out of wedlock, the tenuous connection between the Ling Family and Regina surely makes this one a surprise.

Research of the Regina Times' records reveal that Duke Norris was visiting Jewell, and attended a gala at Duke Astridi's Estate there, that was also attended by Duchess Raleigh in the spring of 1179.

The Times has done independent parallel blind testing of the representative genetic samples from Corina Ling-Raleigh and Duke Aledon in order to confirm the initial report - with the same results.

When contacted this morning at the Ducal Estate on Up Port, Regent Ling-Raleigh declined to comment on this story.

Times Reporter Beaten by Guards

In a totally unprovoked attack this morning outside the Ducal Palace, the Imperial Marines guarding the estate assaulted the Times' reporter. The Regent was obviously displeased by the reporter's legitimate questions and ordered him thrashed by her guards, because she didn't have the courage or the facts to refute the story.

Governor Quells Riot

The release of this morning's edition of the Times, with information viewed by the Regent's supporters as defamatory, led to the formation of a mob outside the offices of The Times on Up Port. Once starport authorities determined the source of the alleged grievance of the crowd, the Regent was notified of the growing mob. She arrived to speak to the crowd and requested that they disperse. She requested that they chose to express their displeasure in more peaceful and constructive ways. We can hardly wait to read the "Letters to the Editor" mailbag this week.

Regina Police Arrest Imperial Fugitives

Regina Police began arrests of Imperial fugitives today, with the coordination of the Imperial Bureau of Investigation (IBI). Commissioner Globber stated that "cooperation with Imperial authorities in the apprehension of dangerous criminals that have victimized people on other planets, can only serve to make Regina a safer place too." Seventeen people were taken into custody during the first days sweeps. Among the fugitives arrested was a Katya Androchev for Piracy, Murder, Theft and Unlawful Flight.

Assassin's Deadly Escape From Courtroom

Three assassins staged a deadly escape from a Regina Courtroom today leaving a trail of dead and wounded bodies behind them. The assassins evidently retrieved firearms which had been previously hidden inside the courtroom. In the hail of gunfire between the escaping assassins and police the judge, six bystanders and three police were all killed; four other police were also wounded. One of the police officers killed was not part of the court security, he simply had the misfortune to be walking past the courthouse as the escapees emerged and gunned him down on the sidewalk. Police have vowed to find the "cop killers" dead or alive.
