Regina Senate to Begin Corruption Hearings Tomorrow |
|
The Senate is scheduled to begin hearing public witness testimony tomorrow at the Senate Chambers on Regina Up Port. These hearings are to probe the topic of endemic corruption within the Regina bureaucracy.
The hearings follow not only the dramatic reforms of the Regina Police Department by Commissioner Globber, but also the arrest of four of his officers this week on charges of bribery and public corruption by the Imperial Bureau of Investigation (IBI). Senator Rutledge's office released a press statement this morning regarding the hearings, over which he will be presiding. |
Mercer Black, Director of Regina Security is among the listed witnesses. He is scheduled to testify beginning at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Senate Chambers.
Governor Collingwood stated that he is proud to continue the reforms of the planetary government that were begun by his predecessor, Corina Ling-Raleigh. "It is about time that the honest citizens of and leaders of Regina, such as Commissioner Globber and Regina Senate President Rutledge, stood up for responsible government. I plan to continue this campaign for an honest government, until the citizens of Regina can hold their heads high as the equal of on any planet in the Imperium." |
