Globber Kills Regina Slasher in Gunfight |
|
In a harrowing gun battle last night, Commissioner Seymore Globber brought the Regina Slasher's reign of terror to an end. Using his unique deductive talents, Globber solved this serial murder case single handedly. Not only did Commissioner Globber identify the perpetrator; he sought him out to arrest him personally. Bringing a multiple murderer to justice was not an easy task that night. A gun battle ensued on Level 20 between Globber and the Slasher, which resulted in Globber being shot six times in the torso with a gauss rifle. Fortunately for Regina, Globber is very hard to kill.
The Slasher had laid an ambush on Station Level 20 for his pursuer by hacking through the hydraulic lines to disable the blast doors in the down position, hindering other police officers in their response to Globe's radio call of "officer down". But although Globber was down, he was not out of the fight. Gravely wounded, he relied upon the pistol skill that has won him a number of competition trophies over the years and killed the Slasher with a single gauss pistol shot to the head. Duchess Corina Armstrong has announced that Commissioner Globber will be awarded the Regina Police Medal of Valor for his actions in bringing the Regina |
Slasher to justice. "Commissioner Globber's actions under fire and after being severely wounded serve as the highest example of bravery and devotion to duty. If Globber had laid down and died that night, like the Slasher expected him to do, the killer of his fellow officers would have walked loose on Regina again to commit further atrocities against Regina's citizens. It is in that pain filled moments when it is easier to surrender, than to struggle toward an obvious death, that a man's true character is displayed. The citizens of Regina should be proud to have men like Seymour Globber in police uniform." The ceremony awarding the medal will be held at Regina Police Headquarters following Globber's release from the hospital, at a date yet to be announced.
The identity of the Slasher has not been released yet, pending positive identification of the body during the autopsy that is scheduled for this morning. The investigation of the Slasher and his motive are continuing for now, in the hands of other Regina Police officers. But the public and Globber can rest easily in their beds, knowing that the savage killer who slashed his way into Regina's headlines can only stalk their dreams now. |
