Imperial Bureau of Investigations. Or the Imperious Bunch of Idiots, depending on your point of view. Their primary jurisdiction is interstellar and interplanetary criminal activity.

Imperium

Ine Givar
A Zhodani paramilitary terrorist group with connections to the Zhodani government.

ISA
Imperial Security Agency. The Agency has authority outside of the Imperium. Their charter is secret. Not to be confused with the ISS. They conduct traditional "security functions" such intelligence gathering and sometimes "black operations" to weaken or discredit other governments and groups.

ISS
Imperial Security Service. The Service has authority within the Imperium; on paper. Not to be confused with the ISA. Their responsibility is also primarily intelligence gathering. There is occasionally conflict with the IBI over whether certain criminal activity is a "security threat" or a simple "criminal" act.
